Patient Arrival
For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.
Appointments
For your convenience, we offer weekday, evening and weekend appointments. Sunday appointments are reserved for sick animals only. To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. Additional fees are charged for walk-in and emergency admissions.
Late Arrivals and Cancellations
Clients who arrive more than 5 minutes after their scheduled appointment may be asked to reschedule. If, for some reason, you are not able to keep the scheduled appointment, please call the appropriate reception office at least 24 hours in advance to cancel. This allows us to see another patient during that time period.

Weather
In the event of inclement weather, please call us at 215-884-0453 to confirm your appointment. You may also refer to the Rau Facebook Page for up to date information about shortened hours or closings.
Prescription Policy
Our staff will be happy to fill your pet’s prescription provided we have seen your pet and done a physical exam within the year, and in some cases the past 1 to 3 months. This also applies to written prescriptions, which can be picked up while you and your pet are in the office. There is no charge for this service since the doctor has examined your pet, reviewed his/her records and determined the need for the drug.
To allow ample time for all medications to be filled, we ask that medications be called in at least three hours prior to pickup time. All medications called in after 7:00p.m on weekdays, or 1:00p.m on Saturdays will be available for pickup the following business day. Due to limited staffing, medications are not filled on Sundays; however previously requested medications can be picked up.
