Our well-equipped surgical suite and trained Operating Room (OR) technicians are prepared to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures, from routine spays to emergency surgery. Our anesthesia technicians provide constant monitoring throughout all procedures to offer an extra margin of safety, especially for our older and high-risk patients.
Anesthesia Services
At Rau Animal Hospital, we care about your pet’s safety. We believe in treating each patient as an individual. Before any surgical procedure, our doctors give each patient a thorough physical exam and review recent lab work. An anesthetic protocol is then created to fit your pet’s specific needs.
Your pet will be monitored by a certified veterinary technician and veterinarian at all times during the anesthetic process. From pre-operative care to recovery, your pet will be monitored by OR technicians with special training in anesthesia and pain management. From routine spays and neuters to more advanced anesthesia techniques for critical and cardiac cases, Rau uses state-of-the-art monitors such as ECG, Pulse Oximetry, Capnography, and Blood Pressure.
We believe in treating your pet’s pain very seriously. Studies have shown that pets who receive pain medication before and after a painful surgical event have a faster recovery time. We will send your pet home with a pain medication protocol tailored to your pet’s specific needs. From routine neutering to extensive dentistry, we will create a pain management regime to keep your pet comfortable during the recovery process.
